Rooted in specialist motorcycle paintwork, Monkey Nuts Paint brings the same exacting approach to instruments, furniture, prototypes and one-off pieces. Each commission is developed around the form, material and intended use of the object—never selected from a catalogue.

Every commission begins with a conversation: the object, its purpose, your references and the feeling you want it to carry.
Colour, proportion, texture and detail are then developed collaboratively, while preparation and technical execution remain the studio’s responsibility.
The result is not simply a chosen colour, but a finish created specifically for you and the object that will carry it.

We work with businesses producing bespoke, specialist and limited-volume products that require a finish equal to the quality of the object beneath it.
From prototypes and presentation pieces to small production runs, components can be prepared, colour developed and finished to an agreed specification. Projects are assessed individually according to the object, material, quantity and preparation required.
Items can be delivered to our Berkshire studio and completed work can be prepared for secure UK-wide return delivery.

THE STUDIO
Our two-floor Berkshire studio separates the creative and technical stages of every commission.
Upstairs is dedicated to consultation, design development, surface preparation and the detailed work that determines how a finish will flow across an object.
Downstairs, a full-size professional spray booth and associated plant provide the controlled environment required for specialist colour, graphics, clearcoat and final finishing.
This combination allows each project to be developed thoughtfully and executed to a consistently high standard—not rushed through as a quick paint job.

Typically £1,000–£7,500
Guitars, basses, drum kits, instruments, furniture and individually commissioned objects are assessed according to their size, condition, preparation and design complexity. Simpler commissions may begin around £1,000, while larger or multi-component projects typically fall between £3,000 and £7,500.
For clients who value considered design, specialist preparation and an exceptional finish.
Every commission is priced according to the object, its condition, the preparation required and the complexity of the finish. Smaller or more straightforward commissions may begin around £1,000, while larger multi-component private projects typically fall between £3,000 and £7,500. Highly complex or technically demanding projects are assessed and quoted individually. Our work is intended for clients who value considered design, specialist preparation and a finish developed specifically for the object.
Project-based pricing
Trade work is quoted according to the object, substrate, quantity, preparation and required specification. One-offs, prototypes and appropriate small production runs are considered.
